About Hermes
Reasons to run on some great trails at Hermes races?
I organise a number of scenic trail events in within the Surrey and Kent countryside. The team are a friendly bunch and everyone is welcome, all the races are suitable for novice runners and the more experienced veteran runners! Some of the reasons you will want to come to one of my events include:
The Sports Systems RFID chip timing is accurately done by professional Liam Burke from Sports Systems Chip Timing he does a superb job of maintaining and uploading all our runners’ times on the day and post-race onto our website, the added advantage is that the race bibs contain the embedded race chip RFID timing tags which makes the process seamless for all our runners and ensures that you can just get out there an run your race.
I have a professionally trained team of medical support staff that are in attendance at every one of my organised events, the medics are managed by Kevin Peach KLP Medical Supplies as our runners’ health and safety is the most important aspect of my race organisation and I take pride in providing the very best medical support to all our runners.
Our race photographs are professionally done by Gareth Parker from Gareth Parker Photography and geo-tagged for all participating runners, the photographs can be purchased post-race for £10.00 per photo and are normally available within 24hrs after the event has been staged for our runners to purchase.
All the Male / Female 1,2,3 podium winners receive bespoke awards, these are handed out straight after the event staging to our podium winners for each of the race distances at all of my respective events, to commemorate their notable achievements.
I have a professional team of Sports Massage Therapists managed by Ben MacKenzie from Ben MacKenzie Sports Massage at all my events.Ben and his team offer a sports massages on race day which costs £12.00 for 10 mins and they are in attendance to ensure that runners have access to deep tissue sports massages post-race.
The race bibs designed are all colour coded for each separate race distance, enabling all competing runners and marshals alike to clearly distinguish which race distance our competitors are participating in.
The course is clearly marked throughout with fixed Hermes Running pink and black signage, this signage demarcates the course to ensure that all our runners can merely run their respective race and enjoy the scenery. We also have a great marshalling team to support our runners on the route and at the designated check points on the course.
The overall event atmosphere is enhanced as all the races take place in really scenic and picturesque parts of the Surrey and Kent countryside. The check points are very well stocked throughout with High 5 Energy Gels,High 5 Energy bars, High 5 Electrolytes, jelly babies, fruit cordial and water. The race experience is very rewarding and motivating with great support too from our marshals and Hermes Running team of supporters that attend all our events.
Our marshals are very friendly and we have a great team from the RAF Air Cadets also supporting our events to ensure the check points and turnaround points are always well managed throughout the event staging.
All our trail marathons are qualifying events for the epic Comrades Ultra Marathon (South Africa) and the 2 Oceans Ultra Marathon (South Africa).
