Hermes Running

Running Events organised in Surrey and Kent

Organised Race Events in Surrey & Kent

Our races are geared up towards both the novice runner and to more experienced veteran runners. Based on the wealth of race experience we have, and having run almost 600 marathons / ultra’s between us, we know what it takes to host an event. Our races offer runners the support and back up of professionally trained medics as we use EPS Medical Response for all our races.

Chip Timing has to be accurate and we have a dedicated professional called David Kitcher from Swift Timing who does a great job of maintaining and uploading all our runners’ times on the day and post-race to our website, the added advantage is that the Race Bibs contain the embedded race chip RFID timing tags so ease of use can be maintained.

Our race numbers are all colour coded with red for the marathon runners and blue for the half enabling runners and marshals alike to clearly distinguish what race a runner is running, a number of our marshals being runners themselves too.

The race medals are all fully bespoke and fully customised to add value to the well-deserved achievements for each runner competing in our races.

We also award trophies to the top 3 male / female runners and veteran category prizes to reward runners for their achievements at all our races.

The signage we use is also bespoke and contains our Hermes Running logo, we aim to make the course marking very clear right throughout so that runners can merely run the race and enjoy the scenery without the added fear of getting lost.

Our resident Scottish piper is always at our races to pipe the “Chariots of Fire” theme at the start and enable our runners to feel inspired before the start and during the race.

This all combines with lovely trail course settings and great facilities pre /post-race, including great food and drink which enhances the flavour of the race day making it a memorable experience.

Comrades-Qual-LogoThe Comrades Marathon Association now officially recognises the Hermes Running Thames Meander, Bewl Water and North Downs Marathons as official pre-qualifying events for the epic Comrades Ultra Marathon (South Africa) see the qualifying times link here

Recent Testimonials

My best every marathon so far after I have ran 15.
It was that good that I have already applied to run it again in March 2015.

Sunjay BhogalThames Meander March 2014

Thank you! I really loved it. It was a great work out and I’m glad it rained-made it much more fun. Perhaps make it an April run next year. Loved the experience, awards and the fact it was not commercialised. You guys did a great job!! I’ve already rated it on Runner’s World!
There was a gang of us who entered and weren’t sure of exact time…haven’t yet invested in Garmin.

Thanks again for everything!

MichelleBewl Water Marathon 2014

Beautiful riverside run with friendliest atmosphere.
The course is really lovely – the path never leaves the river Thames and is pretty all the way. The ground underfoot is mostly trail and although not muddy or slippery I definitely noticed the rough stony ground in places and would invest in some trail shoes for next time (I ran in road shoes this time, which were fine in the dry conditions).

PidgeThames Meander March 2014 Marathon

I’ve ran all 3 years of this and still enjoying it!
Pretty course, well organised by very experienced marathoners, good quality everything including checkpoints to help you round second lap!
